Happy Monday Everybody!

With the season ending there is a lot of excitement to look back upon. Our athletes did a tremendous job throughout the summer, and I know each of the coaches are very proud of what they were able to accomplish throughout the season. I want to take a minute to thank the coaches for everything they did throughout the season and hope to keep them around for years to come! I also want to thank each one of you for being lenient with the VERY whacky schedule compared to what we have done in the past. We could not have done things without you all!

In this email I am going to be going over a couple things, but the most important one for everyone is the Knoebels Picnic Information.

BLACK GROUP SCAVENGER HUNT

I sent out a message in GroupMe yesterday, but for those who are not in that GroupMe, unfortunately we are going to have to cancel the Scavenger Hunt for this year. I must tend to a family emergency back in Pittsburgh and I do not know when I will be returning home. I know the Scavenger Hunt is very much enjoyed every summer, and I’m sorry we did not work it in to this summer.

LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Although we had nearly half of the team, those who competed at League Championships this past Saturday did fantastic! If you would like to see the results, I have attached the result .pdf to this email.

KNOEBEL’S PICNIC

Next Friday, August 15^th, we are going to have our Annual End-of-the-Season Knoebels Picnic. Under Pavilion H, we will be starting the picnic at 4:00 PM. While eating early, we want to make sure that each family member has time to enjoy the park and walk around (or let the swimmers expel their energy).

The parent fund will supply a bargain night handstamp for summer team swimmers. The stamps do not include roller coasters or haunted mansions. Those must be paid for with regular tickets if you wish to ride them.

This will be a potluck-style event. You can now go onto SwimTopia and sign up to bring food, drinks, and various other items that we will need. If you have any questions regarding what to bring you can contact [email protected]

At the Knoebels Picnic, we will be handing out the medals/ribbons that our swimmers won from both the York YMCA Summer Championships and our League Championships. If you will not be attending, please let us know and we will keep your awards off the side.

Lastly, we have two more families that still need to pick up their Applebee’s Fundraiser certificates. We will be bringing the certificates to the Knoebels Picnic and hand them out then.

FALL/WINTER SEASON UPDATES

Throughout this next month, we are going to be working diligently to get everything prepared for the upcoming Fall/Winter Season. We are going to try to have some more information posted on SwimTopia and/or make some announcements at the Knoebels Picnic. So stay tuned for more information about the winter season!
