UPDATES, RESULTS, and MORE!!!
Happy Thursday Everybody,
I wanted to put together an email to talk about the time trial from last night as well as discuss some updates as we move forward into tomorrow and next week. I want to start off by giving a big thank you to Autumn Whitebread, Kerilynn Frey, Jeff Chamberlin, and Coach Eric for being very patient as we tried something new with the timing/meet system. The system was very much out of all of our comfort zones but they were a tremendous help in getting the meet moving along.
TIME TRIAL RESULTS
Next thing regarding the time trial is our kiddos did amazing! We had a ton of swimmers who had either lifetime best times OR made their Bloomsburg Area YMCA debut last night and it was only the first meet of the season! We want to keep the ball rolling as we move ahead into the true competition season. I have attached the meet results to this email if you have any questions please let me know.
NEXT WEEK's LEAGUE MEET
Next week we will be hosting a NEPA League Meet at the Middle School. I had previously sent an email out regarding putting in entries and signing up for volunteering positions. Sign-Ups for entries are open until Monday Afternoon. In regards to volunteering, we are still trying to get things set-up through SwimTopia, so Mrs. Robertson and Mrs. Maloney will be sending out an email or an Alert with a Sign-Up Genius. However we plan on using SwimTopia in the future to collect volunteering sign-ups.
COLORADO SYSTEMS OPERATOR
We are looking for some individuals to learn how to run the Colorado Timing System at the Administrative Table. If you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible. We will make sure you know what to do prior to the meet on Wednesday.
THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT WEEK
This weekend we have a small crew heading to State College participating in the NLAC Swim Fest Meet. This meet is a USA Swimming Meet and is going to be taking place in a Long-Course Olympic Sized Pool. Because of this I will be with them and tomorrow there will be no mandatory dryland practices for Black Group (Only). However those within Black Group can message in the Black Group GroupMe and receive a workout to do on their own time.
Additionally, next week Coach Eric will be on a little vacation. I will be coaching the swim practices while Eric is away meaning I will be unavailable for dryland practices. However, just like tomorrow, we will operate in the same capacity throughout next week. I will be sending the black group swimmers their dryland practice, and they can complete their practice whenever and wherever they would like to complete them. If you have any questions or concerns about it please just ask!
FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR / CHAIR PERSON
Lastly, we are looking for an individual (or individuals) who would be interested in taking on the role as a Fundraising Coordinator. This role would be in charge of planning, setting up, and executing team fundraisers, including fundraisers held at swim meets (ex: Chuck-A-Duck, Candygrams, etc.) as well as outside of swim meets (ex: Bingo, Silent Auctions, Raffles, etc.). If you have any interest in this position please contact Coach Cindy at [email protected]
Thank you all for your patience as we continue to transition into this new system and program.
Lets keep the ball rolling!
Let's Go BAY!!!
